Ongoing projects
I am collaborating with Griffin Renaissance Records
on a substantial recording project on
the Charles West Wilson collection of early English keyboard instruments. The first CD is newly released as of May and
is now available! It contains music by Krebs, Reinagle, Smith, Zipoli, Handel and Clementi.
This is meant to be the first CD of five featuring these remarkable instruments.
The collection includes five original English bentside spinets (including both the earliest
and latest extant), an 1808 Broadwood grand, a delightful
Longman and Broderip square piano, and extraordinary grand harpsichords by Kirkman and Shudi, which are among
the latest and most colorful harpsichords from the late 18th century. This
series could be a real eye-opener about the importance of English instruments, which have traditionally been
somewhat denigrated in the early music movement in favor of their German and Viennese counterparts.
I have plans to put my Halloween repertoire onto CD, as well as followup recordings of
Scriabin and Szymanowski. In a lighter vein, I have a recording of easier piano music
suitable for younger children.
I also have some recordings on my fortepiano and harpsichord that may be released in CD
form or may appear on itunes. Stay tuned to this site for updates!
